New Construction
We have had the pleasure of working with Bobby Caldera during the planning and construction of our new home on Tulloch Lake. We highly recommend Bobby to anyone who wants their house constructed to the highest quality standards. This includes everything from design of the house, to the grading of the lot, to the construction of the home.
He, his crew and the subcontractors he uses are top notch professionals with outstanding skills and pride in their work. The take each project personally and we were always amazed and completely satisfied with the attention to detail and the quality of the work they performed. We relied on Bobby's experience and guidance to make literally hundreds of decisions during the construction. We asked him and he offered his opinion on the many details which helped us immensely to make those decisions. He got to know our tastes and sometimes Bobby himself would make suggestions which we never would have thought of. Those suggestions turned into important changes, which we love, in the construction of the home. His goal was always to make us happy with the work and whatever decision we made, and he accomplushed that goal with us.
Although our new Tulloch Lake home is over 110 miles from our existing home in Fremont, communications with Bobby is easy. He as always available to us through telephone or email to discuss construction issues and details. Even though we made frequent visits to the contstruction site, he hept us apprised of the construction progress through phone calls and by sending emails with photos attahced. His billing was very detailed, in Excel spreadsheets, which followed the line-by-line format of the construction estimate he made, and was backed up with receipts. This format made it easy to track costs against construction estimates.
Finally, and most importantly, Bobby proved to have the very highest integrity possible. He gained our confidence and trust. He always does what he says he's going to do and is completely reliable. Having built homes in the past, we were very concerned about enduring the construction process for a home more than 100 miles away from where we lived. We built a large home there (7 bedrooms, 5 baths) and also found it hard to believe anyone could deliver on a 1 year construction schedule. Our home was built on-time, in-budget with not a single issue. The summer has passed so quickly. Our wonderful new cabin at Twain Harte has never experienced such activity. All of our family, including all three of our sons and their kids and our friends, too, have thoroughly enjoyed the results of all of your efforts and expertise. Scott and his new bride, Christy, enjoyed the new “honeymoon suite” downstairs on several occasions. The cabin looks great and is so nice to use. You did such a beautiful job of blending the old and the new.

The painter did such a great job with the special “green” in the living room. Your guys did such a good job on their part. We especially like the sunburst in the back deck railing. Additions & Remodels
My husband and I took a drive to the cabin yesterday. OMG, everything looked so good! The deck is beautiful! So sturdy and excellent craftmanship. We loved the extra space on the main level. The balconies looked so good too. And I loved the paint color! It's darker in person than in photos which is exactly the look we were going for. My husband remarked what nice work you did (and he's very particular). Oh, and the repair work on the side of the house looks great! It doesn't look like the same house. I left feeling so happy. We contracted with Caldera Construction to build a small addition to our cabin in Cow Creek Recreation Residence Tract, located in Stanislaus National Forest land. Part of the project included modifications to some parts of the existing cabin as well as raising the building approximately 18 inches and constructing new concrete foundations. Dealing with a 63 year old structure that had not been altered since it was constructed required skill and sensitivity, which Caldera Construction demonstrated. Scheduling was also an important factor since the structure had to be completed before the winter snow made access impossible. Work stared in August 2010 and finished in October 2010 on schedule. Bob Caldera was very considerate of our concerns and making accommodations for us to use the cabin while work was proceeding. We were quire pleased with Bob and his crew, who were very congenial and pleasant to be around and were very efficient on the job site. And the left the site exceptionally clean when they were done. We would be very happy to have Caldera Construction do work for us again and hope the opportunity presents itself in the future.
